Studio Mieke Meijer is a Dutch design studio run by Mieke Meijer and Roy Letterlé.
A constructive form language, clean lines and industrial details contribute to a strong, recognizable signature.
The designs of Studio Mieke Meijer are never purely functional but offer the user freedom to use them his own way. This helps them retain their autonomy.
The designs they are mostly hand made in their Eindhoven based workshop. Craftmanship and highly demanding finish are of fundamental importance.
Meijer (Wezep, 1982) graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven. Letterle (Kerkrade, 1978) studied structural engineering at PTH Eindhoven. Together they work on self initiated and commissioned projects. They teach at Design Academy Eindhoven and HKU University of the Arts Utrecht.
Studio Mieke Meijer regularly takes part in exhibitions in different contexts both nationally and internationally. Recently her work was part of the exhibition 'Revaluate’ by collective Dutch Invertuals during the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven.

Beirut Design Week
For the second time Studio Mieke Meijer will present her work during Beirut Design Week, June 1-7. Designers from different disciplines show the multifaceted nature of design.

Studio Jeroen Wand and Studio Mieke Meijer exhibit at Yksi (Eindhoven, NL). A selection of works shown during the Salone del Mobile 2015 are presented in a new configuration. The studios share the same interest for material, technology and construction, however they use disparate methodologies. Their works, therefore, are both complementary and opposite.
During the Salone del Mobile 2015 Studio Mieke Meijer and Studio Jeroen Wand will show (re)configurations of materials, structures and techniques as part of their exhibition ‘Spatial Fragments in Uncharted Materiality’ at Ventura Lambrate. The studios share the same interest for material, technology and construction, however they use disparate methodologies. Their works, therefore, are both complementary and opposite.
NewspaperWood is the result of a 2003 project of Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Mieke Meijer. After partnering with Vij5 in 2007 they recently decided to join forces in a new company to take the material to the next level. NewspaperWood BV is dedicated to the production and development of the NewspaperWood material in order to find new intermediate products and innovative applications.

Dutch Design Week 2014
During Dutch Design Week Studio Mieke Meijer presents new work as part of the exhibition 'Cohesion' by Dutch Invertuals. Next to this our workshop at Strijp T (TAB building) is open for public. Last but not least a new collaboration is shown between designers and producers of bio-based materials at the exhibition 'Forging the future' by Material Sense LAB. Please come & visit!
Beirut Design Week
June 8-15, Studio Mieke Meijer presents her work as part of the exhinition NE+AR: The Netherlands meets Arabia during the Beirut Design Week. Designers from different disciplines show the multifaceted nature of design.
Design Monat Gratz
During Design Monat Gratz (Austria), Studio Mieke Meijer participates in the exhibitiom 'SELECTED: it’s just design!' The exhibition contains contemporary interior design of 36 designers from Europe and some of its neighbouring countries.
For the first time in history, the interior of Palace 'Het Loo' will be temporarily changed. In the historic rooms the work of Dutch designers will be combined with clothing, tableware and art objects from the royal depot.
During OBJECT Rotterdam from February 6-9, the new label by Beeldenstorm, Sundaymorning@EKWC and the National Glass Museum present work by Studio Mieke Meijer on the 30th floor of The Rotterdam, the imposing new building by architect Rem Koolhaas.
During the Dutch Design Week from October 19-27, Studio Mieke Meijer will present new work as part of the Dutch Invertuals exhibition. The Invertuals collaborated with the EKWC, the Glass Museum and Beeldenstorm to realize their projects.
September 9, Mieke Meijer will be one of the guest speakers in 'This happened'. She will tell us about an interesting collaboration with Peugeot, in which an unexpected material was used in a futuristic conceptcar’s interior design: old newspapers.
Salone del Mobile 2013
From April 9-14, new work by Studio Mieke Meijer was part of the new Dutch Invertuals exhibition 'Transform' during the Salone del Mobile, Milan. Dozens of scale models formed the Framework Collection, a shelving system based on that of lattice constructions.
Commissioned by Museum Hilversum Dutch Invertuals designed the exhibition REFRAMED. In this exhibition past and present come together in a surprising way, because they are literally placed in a new context.
Newspaperwood in Peugeot conceptcar
Vij5 and Mieke Meijer are proud to present the result of their collaboration with Peugeot in the Peugeot Onyx conceptcar!
The concept of the car is based on new techniques and materials and NewspaperWood is one of them!
The Onyx will be officially launched during the 2012 Paris Motor Show from September 29 to October 14 2012.
Mieke Meijer was invited to do a lecture on February 20 at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe around the theme 'DesignKultur_DesignDialoge. The students were amazed by the Newspaper Wood samples Mieke Meijer had brought with her for this occasion.
Touchables is part of the exhibition "Winters Tafelen" in ceramics museum Princessehof in Leeuwarden. In the exhibition you can see spectacular tables with dishes of the museum, together with design by famous designers such as Piet Hein Eek, Ineke Hans and Roderick Vos.
Kortrijk: Inside of Mobile
During Interior 2012 from October 20-28 in Kortrijk, the Balance lamps will be part of the exhibition 'Inside of Mobile' organized by Suzanne Rietdijk. Other participating designers are Daphna Laurens, Lotty Lindeman and Wouter Scheublin, Rick Tegelaar en Jeroen Wand.

Dutch Invertuals presents 'conflict'
During the Dutch Designweek 2012 Dutch Invertuals presents conflict; an exhibition with new works from different disciplines. We are confronted by conflict on a daily base. It forces us to choose side and by doing so we keep in motion of renewal. New formats and points of view form as we are being pushed into the future by the power of conflict.
What's Up? May 8th 2012
What’s Up? is a monthly ‘Show & Talk’ about the best of creative Amsterdam and surroundings. For de 48th edition on May 8th guest speakers are author Philip Huff, theatre producer Margo van de Linde, entrepreneur Stef van Dongen (Enviu) and designer Mieke Meijer. Presentation: Jörgen Tjon A Fong (Urban Myth).
Salone del mobile 2012
The exhibition Untouchables Retouched by Dutch Invertuals was succesfull. Mieke Meijer presented the improved version of the Balance lamp including a prototype of a suspension lamp within the same concept.
During Museum Night Rotterdam (March 10), Mieke Meijer presents a series of remarkable installations inspired by the work of Bernd and Hilla Becher. Exclusively for Christian Ouwens, Winding Tower 01 was designed; an desk with an unusual placed showcase.
Dutch Design - Huis van Oranje
In the summer of 2012, Oranienbaum Palace will be hosting an exhibition of contemporary Dutch Design and fashion in combination with historical artefacts from the Dutch Royal Archives.
The Dutch Collection
Oriel Myrddin Gallery hosts an important exhibition of contemporary Dutch design curated by Freshwest Design. The curation is particular: its emphasis is creative, questioning, light and holistic. The exhibition will feature the work of 13 important or emerging designers. Mieke Meijer is one of them.
